Stopping Alcohol Addiction without Signing in on Any Alcohol Rehab

May 3rd, 2008

Statistics show that most people who have come out of alcohol abuse have done so on their own steam. They have not enlisted any outside support, not even of their families, but have ably pulled themselves out of an addicted life. And they are walking the face of the earth today in sobriety.

Of course, something must have triggered that necessity of change in them. Perhaps a medical diagnosis showed a liver under threat, or perhaps a loved one threatened to walk away. Probably they just grew up and got busy with their life. There are many such things that can make an alcohol addiction go away.

So what is important for you to know is not whether YOU can give up alcohol addiction or not, but to know that alcohol addiction CAN BE given up. You have to make an effort. You have to have a determination. But the rewards at the end of day can be quite rewarding. You will be moving towards a healthier life.

Everyone will tell you that you need to be determined about giving up and addiction and you will be able to give it up. Is it really that simple? If you look at the recovered people around you, you will know that it is true. There will surely be a person in your midst who will have given up on alcohol just because he or she decided one day that enough is enough, and now it must be given up.

A loving family helps greatly. It is when you realize you are wanted do you start making efforts for self-recovery. But the biggest contribution is definitely of your own willpower and a good treatment program.
