Chemically, methamphetamine is more related to cocaine and caffeine than to heroin, but due to its psychosomatic action, it is usually clubbed together with heroin.The manufacture of methamphetamine (which is also known as meth or crystal meth) is done from very simple basic everyday substances including antifreeze, battery acids, drain cleaners, etc., each of which are deathly poisonous to the human body. These substances are mixed together in very seedy places in the underground of various areas of the world and sold in the market illegally, especially in parties and such areas where people come together for recreation and to amuse themselves.

A meth addiction is counted as one of the heaviest drug addictions in the world, with several short term and long term effects of the human body. The most marked effect of meth, due to which it is highly infamous, is a much increased sexual appetite that it creates, due to which several illegal sexual acts happen in places where meth is used. People casually having sexual flings under a meth addiction will not care much about things like protection and that increases the chances of infections, including the fatal HIV infection. That is the reason meth abuse is so closely connected with the AIDS scare.

There are meth rehab centers in all progressive parts of the world, but these are only as effective as the determination of the person himself or herself to fight the addiction.
