Many that love the fast-paced cars of NASCAR know quite well drive Aaron Fike. Fike was a popular NASCAR rookie who was headed great places and obviously headed there fast.

Last June Fike drove a fifth-place finish at the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race in Memphis, TN. Fans and other drivers had Fisk in mind for a very successful career, following in the footsteps of other NASCAR greats. Little did people know that earlier that NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race day he used his drug of choice: heroin. He had driven his vehicle at speeds to 120 miles per hour with great precision after using heroin.Fike’s heroin addiction was exposed just a week later when he and his fiancé were arrested in the Kings Island amusement park parking lot in Ohio. Police found syringes and black tar heroin in Fike’s truck, intended for personal use. Everyone was very surprised when Fisk was arrested for heroin abuse. No one suspected a thing. His drug use had been a complete secret. He was the complete “all American boy” in NASCAR.

He had used heroin for about eight months. Fisk was introduced to heroin by the off-the-streets guy who was supplying him with OxyContin after his prescription ran out for the drug when Fisk suffered a broken wrist and back pain in a USAC car crash six years earlier. The pill supplier told him he could get the same type of high much quicker by using heroin. Fisk took his advice and turned to the needle.

Fisk’s drug use has brought the NASCAR substance abuse policy into question. While NASCAR does admittedly have a zero tolerance policy, Fisk was able to evade them for years — and it is wondered if others are able to do the same.
