Your Committment is Needed

Drug rehabilitation is not a simple process, it will take a full commitment on your part. That commitment alone will not be enough. Your self control and dedication are, I’m sure, impressive but no one can realistically expect to control their addiction through sheer will power. The grasp that drugs take on people’s lives are just to strong and are usually so well entrenched by the time addiction treatment programs are even considered that the thought of going it alone is just unrealistic.

Those of you that think that you can go it alone, I admire you. I appreciate your enthusiasm for recovery and your confidence in your own will power. It takes a lot of confidence to make that statement. But it just isn’t the case. If you didn’t need an addiction treatment facility, then you probably wouldn’t be suffering from addiction right now.

The mistake that many people make is feeling shame of some kind for needing help. This is just another example of a life skill that we can help you to develop. There is no shame in asking for help. No one expects anyone else to be perfect. If they do then that is an unreasonable expectation you should feel comfortable brushing off. To often it is this kind of pressure and even the perception of this kind of pressure that drives people to addiction.

We treat the entire person. While we know that it is important to get the person in a substance treatment program free of drug addiction. It is just as important to get that same person to a place mentally and emotionally that they will not feel the need to turn back to drugs and alcohol in order to ease their feelings of disappointment both for themselves and for the people they fell they have failed.
